Dr Della Rocca

The decision of “the right surgical procedure or medical treatment” is imperative to best preserve eye function, save vision, or prevent vision loss.

Reconstructive eye surgery is multifaceted and involves the surgical and medical treatment of diseases and abnormalities of the eyelids, midface, and orbit in both adults and children. Conditions may be diverse and can include single or multiple problems. Diseases and abnormalities often treated are: orbital and eyelid injuries, tumors, developmental and congenital problems, acquired diseases involving the eyelids and tear duct system, and thyroid related eye disease.

As eye reconstructive surgeons our purpose is directed to utilize our diagnostic and surgical skills, to improve function of the eyelids, to protect the eyes, and to repair structural and tissue abnormalities around the eyes. Thorough and careful analysis of these conditions may require CT and MRI scanning.

Our experience and comprehensive knowledge of the important structures in this area and their function and analyzing the unique findings in each patients results in appropriate and good "decision making”.

We believe that effective planning and sound decisions regarding the care of our patients is of paramount importance.

Consultation with patients in our care involves a comprehensive and clear discussion to define "what is possible and realistic.” At times multispecialty consultation may be required.

As reconstructive eye surgeons, we are always sensitive to aesthetic issues while treating our patients.
